This symposium discusses new knowledge about the structure of CFTR, its function as a regulated anion channel, and the action of CFTR modulators on different cystic fibrosis variants.
First, it will discuss how CFTR correctors repair the structure of misfolded CF variants. Second, it will assess the role of ATP-binding site 1 in channel gating and CFTR stability. Third, it will review the latest theratyping data, classifying how many different CF variants respond to CFTR modulators and illuminating divergent responses through analyses of the cellular interactome. Together, the presentations will inform new research to optimize personalized therapies for CF.
