This month’s spotlight video features Mannsdale Upper Elementary School in the Madison County School District, which is expanding STEM Education with its robotics program. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Mannsdale is using robotics to help prepare children for jobs of the future. The school got a grant from Nissan to purchase robotics equipment, which are called VEX IQ Kits. Students compete in VEX IQ competitions within the school and with other schools. You will see in the video that robotics is challenging and fun, and also helps students practice teamwork, planning, problem solving, communication, and leadership.
