First in (most likely) a two part series for this blanket chest. Some really beautiful walnut that I had in my shop for a couple years was finally put to good use. Also added some marquetry to this one for a personal touch for a very cool little guy who's a huge turtle fan. This episode is the building of the main carcass with a lot of emphasis on the handles. It's crazy the amount of time I spent on them alone. Of course there are hand cut dovetails too. I shot the majority of this with my DSLR so hopefully the video quality is better.
The chest is actually being delivered today so I'm excited to see it go to it's new home.
