Collaboration through the value chain
Tech won’t fix your value chain, people will. In this session, Elisa Suvanto (Solita) and Satu Hulkkonen (GS1 Finland) bring the spotlight to where transformation really happens: in everyday decisions, trust-building and collaboration between people. When the pressure is on, from regulation, climate, or market shifts, networks win. But only if the people in the different parts of the value chains know how to work together.
Key takeaways:
Value chain transformation isn’t just a technical integration project, it’s about people working together. Systems don’t collaborate, people do.
The blockers are rarely technical. True collaboration requires shared goals, trust, and the ability to align people across functions and companies, inside and between the companies.
Drivers like regulation (e.g. EUDR), market competitiveness, and climate urgency make network thinking essential, siloed approaches no longer work.
Key enablers include shared relevance, business safety, common standards, active facilitation and clear mutual value.
Start small, build momentum. One shared win is better than a dozen siloed projects.
Trust isn’t soft, it’s strategic. With trust in place, momentum comes naturally.
