STUEY'S BIG STITCH UP AT LETTER A | OLNEY STATE FOREST ENDURO

Ever been stitched up by your mate on an enduro ride? Where another mate says "I've been told not to go down here in the wet" and you follow the leader anyway blindly down the side of a cliff, into a valley where the only way out is back up numerous hill climbs until the track brings you back up to the safety of the free flowing single trail? I have . . .

When Froggy told me "I've been told not to go down here in the wet" I said "you stay here incase we can't get back out the other side" and I, being the good mate I am, followed Toby and Connor off the side of the mountain who were being led by Stuey into the bottom of the valley and a certain stitch up.

The reason we chose to ride Letter A this day is because we had received 2 weeks of continuous rainfall and Letter A being higher up than most of our low lying riding spots, didn't hold the water so badly. What we failed to remember is this area still received a lot of rain and we realised how slippery the ground was when we couldn't ride out of said "hard enduro" track and I'd come to the conclusion that we were walking out and coming to get our bikes when the ground dried up. Which it seems wouldn't have been for several weeks . . .
