Do you find yourself consumed with worry when something difficult, challenging or upsetting happens in your life?
It often happens to the most caring and compassionate people but there's a better way to think about and understand what this means.
Worry is a habit of the mind, not the wisdom of the soul. When we are caught in worry, we’re disconnected from the present moment — and wisdom only lives here, now. To stop worrying is not to ignore life’s challenges, but to meet them with awareness, presence, and trust.
Wisdom arises when we surrender the need to figure everything out and instead listen deeply — to our breath, our body, and the quiet knowing within.
Worry is the mind’s attempt to feel safe by predicting and controlling the future — but the future doesn’t exist yet. When we worry, we abandon ourselves in the present moment, which is where our true power and peace reside.
Wisdom knows that life unfolds in its own perfect timing, even when we can’t see the full picture. The more we try to grip and control, the more disconnected we become from trust — trust in ourselves, in life, and in something greater.
When we turn worry into something more positive we start to look at solutions to the issue that has caused the worry. We see the positives and not the negatives.
In this way, we can turn worry into wisdom.
