In the first part of this 2-part basic introduction to the Orthodox Christian Faith, we begin our journey by reviewing the history of the Orthodox Church. We explore the idea of continuity within the Church, throughout Church history--an idea so essential to understanding Orthodox Christianity. We also introduce the category of "Tradition." Having spent some time going through the historical timeline, we then turn to the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed, one of the touchstones of Orthodox Doctrine: what the Creed says, and what (false) teachings the Creed is responding to.
Part 2 will develop themes of Orthodox Worship and Life.
