In the aftermath of Storm Amy, river temperatures began to drop considerably and resident fish became more active.
On this day, local angler Donald added another couple of fish to his 2025 tally, including this coloured up cock fish.
The winning fly, a home tied pattern, was fished off a floating shooting head and a 10’ Polytip with a sink rate of 6 IPS.
The SEPA gauge at Ness Side was standing at 1’5" which converts to +9" on our own gauge. The water temperature was 13 degrees Centigrade and the air temperature was 14C.
