How To Welt Pillows | Tully Drapery Shop

There are many ways to join your welt when making pillows. The most invisible and most professional way is to make a diagonal seam where they join. This not only looks the best but also eliminates bulk by distributing the seam around the welt cord. In this video I will share how I cut welt on the bias, how to join your seams before making the welt, how to sew the welt onto the pillow, and how to join the ends. The fabric we were using for this pillow project is so beautiful combined with the contrast velvet welt that I thought this would make a great tutorial. I made a couple of tiny pillows for samples to demonstrate the different ways of joining welt. Some methods are perfectly fine for thinner fabrics but not for thick fabrics and especially not for velvet. Please comment with questions and look for the extended video on Patreon.
