Adrian Schubert and His Dance Orchestra play the Dorothy Fields-Jimmy McHugh tune "Go Home And Tell Your Mother", featuring vocals by Ray O'Hara and a trumpet solo by Manny Klein. This was from Schubert's final session as house director at ARC, a role which he had held since joining Regal in 1923. He would soon join the new Crown label, set up by the fledgling Plaza Music Co., where he would remain until the Spring of 1933 shortly before the company's demise.
Adrian Schubert - directing: ?Bob Effros and Manny Klein - trumpets/ Charlie Butterfield - trombone/ ?Larry Abbott and ?Andy Sannella - alto saxes, flutes/ ?Joe Dubin - tenor sax, flute/ 2-3 violins/ viola/ Russ Carlson and another - piano/ banjo/ brass bass/ drums/ Ray O'Hara - vocals
For this final session, an enormous band compared to usual was employed, with a full string section and two pianists. This, combined with the saxophonists doubling on flutes, gives them a rather heavy Ohman-Arden sound! This is take 1, with takes 3, 4 and 5 also being issued. The latter two would have been recorded in a remake session, but it is not known who directed this.
