The Diamondback Fitness 1260sc Studio Bike is affordable, yet well-constructed. It also doesn’t require a subscription to use, so it definitely appeals to those who don’t want to be tied into an additional monthly cost. The console is battery-powered and displays your workout metrics like your watts, resistance, speed, calories, distance, and RPMs. There aren’t any onboard workouts in the console, but you can customize some of the metrics to keep your rides focused.

The watt trainer feature lets you select a target watt goal, as well as choose your time, distance goal, and calorie burn goal. You can also just hop on and ride. If you do want some entertainment, the adjustable tablet holder holds your device. You can of course watch/stream anything you want, but the 1260sc connects through Bluetooth to apps like Zwift and Strava, too.

We appreciate that it has a solid build and some thoughtful features. The frame consists of two stabilizers that have adjustable leveling feet so you can eliminate any rocking or unevenness of the bike, even if your floor is uneven.

On the front stabilizer, there is a built-in handle and rear transport wheels for easy moving. I definitely prefer having a handle to tilt the bike to engage the wheels and wish more models would include this. As far as stability, the Diamondback feels really stable and can handle up to 300 lbs.

Our reviewers range from 5’0” to 6’5” and we were all able to get a perfect bike fit because this bike has four adjustment points. The handles and seat can be adjusted horizontally and vertically. When measuring the leg span, the bike has a 27” - 39” leg span. This is your inseam to give you an idea of if this bike will adjust to fit you.

The Diamondback 1260sc has a rear flywheel that is out of the “sweat-zone” and less prone to damage over time because of this placement. As I mentioned, the 1260sc is pretty affordable and we hope to see heavy flywheels on bikes at this price point. This studio bike has a 31 lb flywheel which is excellent to help make the bike feel smooth and sturdy to ride. The 1260sc also has a belt drive that connects the flywheel to the pedals. This also contributes to how smooth the pedal stroke is.

As far as resistance, the 1260sc has adjustable magnetic resistance with 16 levels. The resistance feels like plenty of tension for users of all levels, however, the bike does make a little bit of noise when it’s in use. It is not excessive and we think that it’s appropriate for most home settings, but we noticed it makes a quiet whirring sound.

The Diamondback Fitness 1260sc is surprisingly comfortable. We enjoy the lightly padded saddle, multi-grip, textured handlebars, and hybrid pedals. These pedals accommodate athletic shoes as well as SPD cleats.
