Powerful winds gusting between 60 and nearly 75 miles per hour slammed the Lake Erie shoreline today, creating dangerous whiteout conditions and heavy snowfall. Massive waves driven by the storm coated vehicles, power lines, and nearby shrubs in thick ice, leaving at least one car completely encased. The severe conditions made travel hazardous at times as well.
