N801 Otterlo - Eschoten - Wekerom - De Valk - Barneveld (NL)

The N801 is a provincial road in the center of the Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland. The N801 is located in the middle of the Gelderse Vallei and connects Barneveld with the N304 (Apeldoorn - Ede) near Otterlo. The Gelderse Vallei is an extensive agricultural area with many chicken farms.

In the video we drive towards Barneveld. The first part of the N304 is winding and designed as an access road (ETW), but the maximum speed is 80 km/h (compared to 60 km/h normally). After the passage through Wekerom, the N801 is designed as a distributor road (GOW). On the way we pass De Valk, a hamlet where the real village is located south of the N801. The eastern part of the ring road around Barneveld will be constructed between De Valk and Barneveld in the future. The route study is still ongoing (as of 2023).

The video ends in Barneveld, the largest town in the vicinity, making Barneveld fulfill an important central function. The video ends at an intersection where the N800 to Stroe and the former N805 to Voorthuizen also connect.

De N801 is een provinciale weg in het midden van Nederland, in de provincie Gelderland. De N801 ligt midden in de Gelderse Vallei en verbindt Barneveld met de N304 (Apeldoorn - Ede) bij Otterlo. De Gelderse Vallei is een uitgebreid landbouwgebied met veel kippenboerderijen.

In de video rijden we richting Barneveld. Het eerste deel van de N304 is bochtig en ingericht als erftoegangsweg (ETW), maar de maximumsnelheid is wel 80 km/u (tegen 60 km/u normaal). Na de passage door Wekerom is de N801 uitgevoerd als gebiedsontsluitingsweg (GOW). We passeren onderweg De Valk, een buurtschap waarbij het echte dorp ten zuiden van de N801 ligt. Tussen De Valk en Barneveld zal in de toekomst het oostelijke deel van de ring om Barneveld worden aangelegd. Het tracé-onderzoek loopt nog (stand 2023).

De video eindigt in Barneveld, de grootste plaats in de nabije omgeving waardoor Barneveld een belangrijke centrumfunctie vervult. De video eindigt op een kruispunt waar ook de N800 naar Stroe en de voormalige N805 naar Voorthuizen aansluiten.
