This video shows how to replace the lower control arm. The control arm is a key suspension component that connects the wheel hub to the vehicle’s frame. It holds the wheel in proper alignment, absorbs road shocks, and allows the suspension to move up and down while maintaining smooth steering and stable handling.
Symptoms of a Worn or Broken Control Arm:
• Clunking noise when driving over bumps
• Steering feels loose or unstable
• Uneven or rapid tire wear
• Vehicle pulls or wanders to one side
• Steering wheel no longer centers properly
In this video, we are replacing the left-side control arm, but the process is the same for the right side.
Note:
• Always prioritize safety. Use jack stands and make sure the vehicle is securely supported.
• After replacement, the steering wheel may not be centered. You can manually straighten the steering wheel or adjust the tie rods, or ideally, get a wheel alignment for best results.
