Ingredient and Measurement
• 2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
• 1 ¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar
• 4 large eggs (room temperature)
• 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk (room temperature)
For red velvet
• 1 tsp cocoa powder
• 1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk (room temperature)
• 1 tbsp (15ml) red food coloring
• 1/2 tsp white vinegar
For the Frosting:
• 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
• 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar
• 2–3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Set to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 6-inch round pans.
We start by mixing simple baking ingredients — butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla — to create a light and airy vanilla base.
