Morning Meteorologist Ryan DePhillips has a look at the weather ahead. Rain showers with thicker clouds have moved through Western New Mexico & Southern New Mexico as that activity is now moving north through the Rio Grande Valley with snowfall mostly in the higher elevations. Around-freezing to below-freezing temperatures are in many areas in the northwestern corner of the region, while everywhere else from even the northern parts of Rio Grande Valley to the south and east is mostly ranging from the 30s to around 50°. Clouds will pass through with more precipitation moving in periodically with lightning strikes possible, but because of some sunshine out in front of the storm system, slightly above-normal high temperatures will continue for most. Areas to the north will mostly range from the 40s to the 60s, while 60s & 70s will mostly develop from the Rio Grande Valley to southern and eastern areas. Moisture has moved in as the pendulum swing pattern of somewhat-damp mornings out east with breezy easterly winds shifting to southwesterly drier winds in the afternoons will still continue periodically ahead. More areas will then experience more wet to wintry mountain weather with the next storm system finally moving through the region tomorrow with a gusty backdoor front cooling things down even more. Then, another potential system will approach ahead, but clearer conditions will allow for temperatures to rebound beforehand.
