In the summer of 2025, devastating wildfires swept across Northern Saskatchewan, threatening lives, homes, and generations of hard work. But this is not a story of what was lost. This is a story of what endures.
Join award-nominated filmmaker Scott Woroniuk of Crosscut Films as he returns to the lake country he once called home to sit down with the resilient owners of three beloved northern resorts: Shelly Lawrence of Rainbow Lodge at Piprell Lake, Walter Halliday of Whiteswan Lake, and Troy Scowan of Little Bear Lake Resort.
Hear their firsthand accounts of the harrowing fight to save their livelihoods, witness the unbreakable spirit of their communities, and listen to their powerful message of hope and rebirth. This short film is a testament to the fact that even after the fire, the North is still beautiful, the fishing is better than ever, and the doors are wide open.
