Alfred Wainwright published his book A Coast to Coast Walk in 1973, just over 50 years ago, and in doing so created what has become the most beloved and popular long-distance walking trail in the UK. Now, before the end of my 50th year, I have decided finally to follow in AW’s footsteps.
During this stage, I made my way over a few days from Borrowdale over to Keld, taking an unrecorded rest day at Kirkby Stephen and meeting the lovely @hikingwiththeshackletons family. I also met a lovely French family from near Mont Blanc, to whom I am now known as Monsieur Gingerbread - I hope they see this and get in touch to exchange contact details - they were wonderful. Right at the end, I experienced some true trail magic - in the form of the best free burger and cuppa I’ve ever had - thank you, trail angels ✨
Thank you for watching, and until next time,
Imaybesometime
