It is 6 weeks till race day at Ironman California where Tom tries to break 9 hours. This week he has increased his triathlon training volume. The run remains a focus, as a strong marathon is key to him going sub 9 at the ironman. So this week he takes on a track session he did before T100 London and compares the two sessions to see his progress. He follows this up with a massive weekend of cycling clocking 9 hours in the saddle including a 10 mile TT at over 340 watts. Oh and after that he does Ellie's long run. All in all its an insane week pushing him to his limits. Showing he is all in on reaching this epic goal.
He tests a new bottle set-up at the time trial and ultimately decides to abandon the fidlock bottle for Ironman California. We will do a whole video before the race explaining why he wanted to try it, why it didn't work out, reviewing his experiences and revealing how he ends up getting the nutrition onto the bike.
