Gandikota known as the Grand Canyon of India, the Gandikota Canyon is a gorge carved by the Penna River in Andhra Pradesh. A gorge is a valley formed by the erosion of rocks due to the river flowing through the rocks over centuries, eventually cutting it and creating a path of its own.

This continuous water flow is why Gandikota has unique boulder formations, deep valleys and a landscape that looks like it’s from outer space.

One should ideally visit Gandikota, hidden Grand Canyon Of India between September to February as the weather is comfortable and pleasant. The summer months are hot and humid with the temperature sometimes soaring up to a good 40-45 degree celsius, and thus is not a good time to witness the Grand Canyon India gorge.
