Zig Zag Railway Ghost Train Frozen In Time Hydro Majestic & Scenic World Katoomba

Ghost railways can look beautiful and scary. It's January 2016 and the historic Zig Zag railway in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney is still not running. Ever since 2012 there has been a message of "we will be back in a year", roll onto 2016 and 4 years have passed without any clear indication the railway is anywhere near ready to run. Bushfires in 2013 caused loads of damage but I feel something big needs to change if the Zig Zag Railway is to be a viable major tourist attraction again. In this video we also look at the amazing Hydro Majestic At Medlow Bath and Scenic World at Katoomba. Both of these Blue Mountains tourist attractions have recently been re-built and are totally amazing. But sadly the Zig Zag railway seems to slide out of people's memories as the years roll on without operation.
Basically lots of money, clever product and good management can make just about anything work, it seems the Zig Zag Railway is in need of huge amounts of money! But while the railways depends of a running trains service to make money, I feel the Zig Zag management need to do something to invigorate Clarence station as a tourist stop. Having it just sit there vacant is a lost opportunity to make money. When looking at the other major tourist attraction in the Blue Mountains it does highlight how they use multiple attractions to keep people busy. It also gives a form of backup if something needs to be repaired or renovated. Anyway this video will annoy some people who think the Zig Zag Railway should solely focus on running a train service. I can argue back that this idea is what has left the railway crippled for funds while it's rebuilding to comply with today's passenger safety OH&S laws. Sadly all this is looking like a giant train wreck, lets hope that soon the railway will be back steaming up the railway inclines.
