"Accompanying when trauma hits" is a training course scheduled from April 3 to 17 at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. This course, organized by the University in collaboration with the Don Bosco nel Mondo and the Don Bosco Network, aims to provide tools for the management and prevention of trauma for educators, teachers, and members of the Salesian Family working in armed conflict contexts. Participants include representatives from three Salesian provinces - Middle East Province (MOR), Greek Catholic Vice-province of Ukraine (UKR), and Poland-Kraków Province (PLS) - as well as from the diocese of Donetsk, Ukraine.
The faculty of the Salesian Pontifical University, in collaboration with colleagues from IUSVE, designed the course in direct response to the needs expressed by the participants. The focus of the course is to prepare trainers capable of operating in their original contexts, transmitting skills to transform the socio-educational environment and to prepare to deal with traumatic experiences in a preventive way. The program is divided into three thematic areas: pedagogical, psychological, and Salesian, each led by experts in the respective field.
