2 tbsp sugar

1 tsp five spice powder / 1 star anise,1 bay leaf and 1 inch cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
3/4 cup light soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
650 ml hot water
10-12 hard boiled eggs(optional)
