Proud to present the first video documentation of Richard Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll" on original instruments on Youtube: With this performance in historically informed practice, the Richard-Wagner-Akademie Dresden realized its first chamber music project in April 2025. For this occasion, cellist @JanVoglerCello invited an international ensemble of outstanding chamber musicians and soloists to Saxony. Together, they explored works by Richard Wagner and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in historically informed interpretations, presenting them on a tour through some of Saxony’s most beautiful music venues, set in dialogue with Pavel Haas’ Study for String Orchestra.
A project of the Richard-Wagner-Akademie Dresden of the Dresdner Musikfestspiele.
Recorded in April 2025 at the Richard-Wagner-Stätten Graupa, the oldest museum-used residence of Richard Wagner. A permanent exhibition documents Wagner's childhood, school years and education in Saxony as well as his time at the Dresden Court Opera. The Richard-Wagner-Stätten Graupa regularly host musical events.
