This week on Back to Basics, we focus on the simple work that makes winter easier.
We explore an old animal house on the farm and begin opening it up, reclaiming another small piece of this abandoned mountain landscape. As autumn settles in, we rake and collect cherry leaves, adding them to the compost to feed the soil for seasons to come.
With colder days approaching, it’s time to stock up on firewood and clear the mountain road—small jobs that matter when you live here. And finally, winter makes its first appearance as snow arrives high in the mountains.
