With the expiration of it's mainline certificate on the horizon, A4 60009 'Union of South Africa' is having one final fling on a number of tours across the UK over the next few months.
Today, the 22nd of Feb 2020, she took charge of the Railway Touring Companies 'Cotswold Venturer' from London Paddington to Worcester running over the famous Golden Valley line.
On the outward run we see the streak accelerating away from Challow on the GWR mainline near Swindon, before next catching her at Coats climbing into the Cotswolds. On the return the A4 put in a fine performance firstly seen getting away from Worcester at Besford, and then storming over the summit of Sapperton bank.
Lastly we see the train departing Kemble in a cloud of steam after taking on water. The weather was changeable at best today, but as always this didn't distract from the performance that this well travelled A4 put on. Hope you enjoy!
