Susan Lacke is a writer, teacher, and triathlete. She is also an alcoholic. But before you assume she was saved by triathlon, have a listen to this conversation where she gives us the bare-bones truth of her journey to sobriety. There are plenty of stories of addiction and redemption out there, but none quite like this. Tune in as we talk about training as a way to deal with "The Not Enoughs", how alcoholics do not often fit stereotypes, dealing with perfectionism, why it's important to have more than one thing in a mental health toolkit, how Susan found her tribe running a race on New Years Eve, and of course–how losing her hearing at the age of 2 turned her into the world's biggest perfectionist. Susan is amazing and you won't want to miss this!
