COLLABORATE ON A WORKBOOK
PROJECT STEPS
1. Adara Hakimi is an account manager at Insight Group, a market research firm in Detroit, Michigan. Adara and her assistant, Ling Chin, use an Excel workbook to track sales for market research projects in the Detroit and Chicago offices. She asks for your help in reviewing Ling's comments and making the workbook accessible to all users.
Go to the Detroit worksheet. Show the comments in the workbook, and then respond to the comment in cell B5 as follows:
a. In cell B5, change the data as Ling recommends, using D-3024 as the entry.
b. Delete the comment in the cell.
2. Respond to the remaining comments in the worksheet as follows:
a. Go to the next comment in the worksheet, which is from Ling Chin in cell G5.
b. Reply to the comment in cell G5 by including the text Good to know as the response, and then post your reply.
c. Reply to the comment in cell F10 by including the text Yes, this is correct. as the response, and then post your reply.
3. Adara notices that an entry in the Previous year column might be incorrect and wants you to ask Ling to verify it.
In cell G8, insert and post a new comment that contains the following text:
I thought the sales were higher. Please check with Ruby.
4. Read the note in cell H11, and then convert all notes to comments since the note is asking for a response.
5. Adara asks you to insert a reminder to update the sales data when new project sales are recorded. In cell F4, insert a new note that contains the following text:
Update sales next month.
6. Check the accessibility of the workbook to determine whether the content is accessible to all users.
Respond to the inspection results as follows:
a. Mark Picture 2 (the logo) on the Detroit worksheet as decorative.
b. Add A column chart comparing sales to previous year as the alt text description for Chart 1 on the Detroit worksheet.
c. Rename Sheet1 by using Chicago as the new name.
7. Adara often creates worksheets that list the six types of market research Insight conducts. Provide a way for her to quickly list the research types as follows:
a. Return to the Detroit worksheet.
b. Create a custom list of research types by importing and then adding the data in the range C5:C10 to a new custom list.

9. Go to the Chicago worksheet. Insert the research types by entering Focus group in cell C5, and then filling the range C6:C10 based on the data in cell C5.
