Ingredients:
Bottle gourd(Lauki): Half portion
Boiled Milk : 500 ml
Date jaggery: 200 gm
Cashew nut and raisins: Handful
Ghee: 2 tsp
Cardamom: 3
Cloves: 2
Cinnamon
Bay leaves: 2
Procedure:
Take half portion of a bottle gourd and peel off. Wash it and grate the outerside leaving the seeds portion and soak in water for few minutes. Heat kadhai, add some water and boil the grated bottle gourd for 10 minutes. Take it out from water. Heat kadhai, add 2 tsp ghee, the whole garam masala and saute for few seconds. Add the bottle gourd, saute for a minute then add the boiled milk. Cook the bottle gourd for 7-8 minutes or till the milk thickens. Add cashew nuts and raisins and cook for another few minutes. Put off the gas and let the kheer cool down slightly. Add the jaggery slowly, add cardamom powder and mix well. Let it cool for some time. The delicious Bottle Gourd Kheer is ready to serve. Enjoy as sweet dish with puri, roti or paratha.
