As Team GB’s first black female swimmer, Alice Dearing made history at Tokyo 2020.
Dearing finished 19th in her maiden Olympic Games and proudly spoke of paving a way for more black swimmers.
The Loughborough-based athlete secured a spot for Tokyo by finishing fourth out of 47 marathon swimmers at a qualifying event in Portugal in June.
Dearing has competed at three World Championships, with a best finish of 11th in 2019, while she was crowned world junior champion in 2016.
Dearing, who grew up in Birmingham, started swimming at the age of eight and trains in Loughborough, where she is studying for a degree in Social Media and Political Communication.
