We are starting in Eastwood in Nottinghamshire, home of the writer D.H. Lawrence. Today we are off to seek out Robin Hood's Well and the Gamekeepers Lodge from Lady Chatterley's Lover.
10.5 miles (16.9 km's) Circular Route - or 8.3 miles if take shorter route as mentioned below.

From Eastwood we will head to Moorgreen Colliery now a country park and then to the reservoir where D.H. Lawrence called it 'Willey Water' in the book 'The Peacock' from here we head through High Park Wood and Morning Springs where we should find the Well and the Gamekeepers Hut. Then onwards to Beauvale Priory and Misk Hill a Sandstone Plateau. Afterwards we will goto Beacon Hill and then to Greasley Church before heading back to the start point in Eastwood.
Alternatively when reach New Road after Morning Springs woodland rather than going to Beauvale Priory go the opposite way on New Road and pick up the footpath on the right by Brookbreasting Farm - this will take the route down to 8. 3 miles instead.
