A 16 minute pictorial of the build process for my third acoustic guitar project: a 24.9” Martin style 000 in black walnut with a Sitka spruce top and 28 series trim but with curly maple binding and a herringbone rosette similar to the Martin 16 series. The braces are hand carved/scallopes 1/4” Sitka spruce. The neck was a donation from a Martin certified repair shop master luthier and has a 24.9” scale with a modified V neck profile similar to the 000-28EC. The fingerboard is ebony with pearloid diamond cross inlays. The headstock faceplate is bookmatched ziricote. The finish is hand rubbed French polish with ultra blonde shellac.
Construction had many starts and stops with the neck and fingerboard being completed in 2019. Construction of the body was done in 2023 but a setback required extensive repairs and replacement of the soundboard that extended the length of the build to October 2025.
