Today on Workshop Quick Takes (wqt): Resistive connections are a source of severe electrical damage and fires in vehicles. Why do they occur? Why didn't a fuse fail? What can be done to prevent them from occurring?

Join us in our 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ, and at our shop bench, as we demonstrate a situation we encountered with our vehicle's auxiliary port and then show, using practical examples, why it occurs. Once you understand the mechanism, you can take steps to avoid future problems.
