Hi guys,
I unfortunately had surgery on my foot 2 weeks ago and can hardly walk. That the ceiling does not fall on my head I have treated for the MS flight simulator. So I can at least continue to enjoy the world a little.
The quality is stunning as I find.
In the video you can see Frankfurt, New York, Tokyo and Darkstar hypersonic jet from Top Gun Maverick.
You can simulate all the way to the midnight sun in Greenland. Add real weather maps or current air traffic.
But the quality has its price. Meanwhile 360 GB are on the SSD and online during a flight more GB are loaded into the cache. The power consumption is almost 1000 watts (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, Intel Core i9-13900 with two certified HDR monitors, 32" and 48").
The videos were created in the Ultra setting, HDR 4K and enabled ray tracing.
But the emotions while flying compensate for everything and makes you almost forget the operation :-)

Technology explanation:
HDR corresponds to 1000 nits brightness, SDR have only 100 nits. Bright lights can be displayed up to 10x brighter and thus look very realistic.
HDR is usually activated automatically with suitable hardware.
Many newer smartphones can often already play HDR automatically. Please set smartphone to maximum brightness for HDR!
On Windows PCs, you can activate/deactivate HDR with "Win + Alt + B" if you have an HDR10-capable monitor connected.
You can check YouTube via the gear icon in the video window at the bottom right. If everything is compatible, 2160p60 HDR 4K is displayed.
For YouTube I had to scale down to 60fps, sorry for this, so there is a FPS counter in the top right corner of the video :-)
Future movies of mine will probably all be in HDR. I'm really looking forward to it.
