Cactus to Clouds Palm Springs California. Hiking Mt San Jacinto, 10,700 Feet Elevation

This was a 21 mile trail up San Jacinto. My Buddy and I hiked at least 22 miles total and 10,600 feet from the bottom to the top and back down part way. We started in the Palm Springs Art Museum Parking lot where the trail head was and ended up at the top of the mount. To get back down we took a tram they have for people who do not want to hike 8,000 feet in 8 miles.
We started our day hiking at around 5am and did not finish hiking until 815pm when we got back to the tram.
The first 8 mile stretch is the hardest because you have the mental thought of water running out within that distance and time. It is easy to go through a whole camelback within those 8 miles. At times the hike felt like it was never going to end going up. Other times the view was astonishing to look at.
We were extremely happy to make it to the ranger station, but we did not have much video footage because we were pressed for time then.
We camped out in the windmill farm area as mentioned and enjoyed a nice quiet stay the night before the hike.
