Artists Mikailah Thompson and Deante Moore introduce themselves and their crafts during a discussion hosted by Yahoo's Native Americans employee resource group on Feb. 21, 2023.
Thompson's late grandmother, Chloe Halfmoon, taught her how to bead at a young age. Since then, she has created her own signature style blended with traditional Nimiipuu influences.
Deante' Moore's company Dearte' blends culture, representation, and creativity. Deante' creates art to show the resilience of his ancestors. He expresses fashion through his creativity to empower those to walk in representation.
