Welcome to 22nd episode on Bhujangasana (Cobra pose). Bhujanga means serpent or cobra; Asana means posture. In the final position your body resembles like serpent or cobra with raised hood, hence the name cobra pose.
BENEFITS:
• Opens up the Chest, shoulders and neck.
• Rejuvenates spinal nerves with rich blood supply.
• Tones the abdomen.
• Improves flexibility of the upper and middle back.
• Useful for people with respiratory disorders such as asthma. (Do not practice this yoga pose during the asthma attack though).
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
• Avoid practicing Bhujangasana if you are pregnant, have fractured ribs or wrists, or recently underwent abdominal surgeries, such as for hernia.
• Also avoid doing Bhujangasana if you suffer from Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
