Indie-pop star ROLE MODEL teaches the art of songwriting to the students at PS 40. From brainstorming lyrics to building melodies, ROLE MODEL shows the students how to transform their everyday thoughts and feelings into music.

With ROLE MODEL’s guidance, the students reimagine his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” through their own perspective, turning it into a joyful anthem that only kids could dream up.

Hosted by Julian Shapiro-Barnum (Recess Therapy), Celebrity Substitute sees some of the world’s most recognizable celebrities step in to teach unsuspecting students. The series is executive produced by EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul via their Ampersand production banner.
