This song was recorded in late 60s on 45rmp plastic record ,. the only means of recording at that time. The song was very popular in the early 70s. Norden Tenzin, Shyam Lama and Franklin Mukhya (all from Kurseong who later formed Himalayan Band in Hong Kong after joining British Army) were in college in 1970 and knew the song. The Band started singing this song during its stage performances in Hong Kong and recorded the song on audio cassette most probably in 1975. So this song is not of Himalayan Band but arranged by Jiwan Pradhan and sung by Pushpa Jung Pradhan and Padma Jung Pradhan nicknamed Sanu- Thulo(identical twins from Darjeeling) The Himalayan Band has even distorted the lyrics of the song thereby destroying the inner meaning of the song. Whether copyright permission was obtained from the original owners by the band is not known.
