Hello friends! Welcome to Cook With Sapna. Today I’m sharing a Vrat-friendly crispy Sabudana Vada recipe — perfect for fasting days, Navratri, or any special occasion. This delicious snack is made two ways: in an appe pan (for low oil cooking) and in a shallow fry pan.
✨ Ingredients Used:
½ cup sabudana (soaked for 2 hours)
2 boiled potatoes (grated)
2 green chilies (chopped)
2–3 tbsp crushed roasted peanuts
Sendha namak (rock salt) to taste
Chopped fresh coriander
1 tsp ghee (for shaping)
Ghee (for cooking in appe maker or pan)
🌿 Special Vrat Chutney:
1 guava (chopped)
Fresh coriander
2 green chilies
Sendha namak
A little water
🔥 Steps:
Soak sabudana, drain excess water, and mix with grated potatoes, chilies, peanut powder, rock salt, and coriander.
Let the dough rest for a few minutes and shape into small tikkis or vadas using greased hands.
For appe maker method: Grease each cavity with ghee, place the vadas in, and cook both sides on low flame till golden and crispy.
For pan-fried method: Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a shallow pan, place vadas in, cover and cook on low flame till both sides are golden and crisp.
Make the guava-coriander chutney using all chutney ingredients and blend till smooth.
Serve hot sabudana vadas with this vrat chutney or curd!
