The game randomly rewarded me with a new sword for beating Shingen in the last stage. It was still underlevelled compared to the original sword and offered only half of the HP of the starting sword, so it’s not worth using until some leveling.
This stage gets a different background compared to before, and it drops some spiky log hazards that are pretty easy to avoid. This is the point where I started feeling that this game plays more like Devil May Cry than the Musou games, with air combos and different button combinations for different attacks. Frankly enjoying this game more than I did with either DMC1 or DMC3 right now though despite the lengthy dialogues.
A couple of bosses here. One boss fight here has a new mage enemy floating in the air to summon some exploding skulls after you while you’re dealing with the other spear skeleton. It doesn’t attack directly at all, so it’s pretty easy to take down after dealing with the spear skeleton.
Hagane and Komimi mentioned that they both came from different timelines and parallel worlds.
