Making coltsfoot tincture is easy and a great herbal tincture to keep on hand for those who have a cough or a bronchial cough. Also known as coughwort, the flowers are commonly infused in honey and used for coughs. An herbal tincture can also be used under the guidance of a qualified health professional as well. Coltsfoot's Latin name is Tussilago farfara: Tussilago means “cough dispeller” and farfara means far far away.

Recap:
Use minimum 25% alcohol (vodka) with coltfoot flowers at a ratio of 3:1. Keep the jar out of direct sunlight for 10 to 14 days. Be sure to stir with a wooden stick until all the petals remain in the liquid. Swirl the jar daily.
After the 10 to 14 days, strain - then store tincture in a cool, dark place.
