MANYAMBA WATER PROJECT

The 435 students who attend Manyamba Primary School were walking a mile each day to collect water. All of that has changed thanks to an incredible act of generosity.

When our team first visited Manyamba on October 23rd for the initial water survey, they were greeted by the students returning from their morning trip to collect water. The nearest source was a farm, that had allowed the school limited access to a manual water pump. We learned from the school administration that the school had been struggling because of the lack of water and almost closed completely because of the distance to the nearest source.

The team returned on November 5th with the rig to drill the well. The entire school gathered along with many members of the surrounding community to watch the big event.

There are not adequate words to express the excitement and energy the moment the rig hits water!

Solar panels were installed to run the pump that fills the 5,000 JoJo tank, giving the school and the surrounding community access to safe, reliable water right on the school grounds!
