Cupid to Manerina | Try This Beautiful Pole Dance Transition Today!

Cupid to Manerina is a graceful intermediate transition on spinning pole that flows smoothly from a strong hooked position into a soft, ballet-inspired shape. This move is perfect for building control aerially, while working on clean lines and elegant direction changes.

Suggested Pre-requisite Moves
Cupid (you don’t need hands off), Ballerina (full) is helpful but not necessary, Arabesque

Key Tips

Key Tip 1 Spin backwards in your Cupid

Key Tip 2 Bottom foot stays on the bottom for Manerina

Key Tip 3 Try to keep your bottom foot close (ish ) to the pole as you transition

Key Tip 4 Bring your outside hand to the pole roughly at armpit height

Key Tip 5 Lean back with the spin

Key Tip 6 Get the pole into your armpit

Key Tip 7 Sickle foot grip- foot on one side of the pole and knee on the other

Key Tip 8 Grip is down the side of the thigh

Key Tip 9 Grab the inside of your foot

Key Tip 10 Lift your back knee UP

Key Tip 11 Push your foot into your hand

Key Tip 12 Lead with your chest

Key Tip 13 Getting your elbow behind the pole first helps to get the pole into your armpit grip


Strength Tips
-Squeeze your glutes and hamstrings to lift your back knee UP
-Pull your shoulders back and down to engage back extensors and keep your posture lifted
Really pull up your kneecaps in both poses- to engage your quads and use that grip as a PUSH so prevent sliding


Finesse Tips
-As little movement with the bottom foot as possible
-Keep you chest up and out
Lift everything UP in your Manerina chest, back knee, foot
-Lift your arm up, soft elbow and look up at your fingers
-Keep your toes pointed on the transition for pretty lines
