Vittna - Demo CS (2017)

First release from this new hardcore punk band out of Raleigh, NC. Vittna sounds kind of like a mix of darker, dissonant US bands like Die Kreuzen or more obscure European bands like Nog Watt. Still, these dark and moodier elements are still incorporated into an urgent delivery that brings to mind classic 80s US hardcore. The vocalist on this tape offers some throat-shredding growls that are still clear and convicted. Another cool aspect of the band: the name "Vittna" is Swedish for "Witness", and the vocals also alternate between both languages. Hopefully more is to come from this band later in the year.
