Hey everyone! In today’s video, I’m trimming my chilli plant, which I’ve had for almost two years. This plant has been a great producer, giving me lots of chilies to dry and use in my recipes. Since spring is around the corner, I want to get it ready for another season of growth by trimming off some leaves and branches.
Trimming is essential, especially when growing in a small pot, to ensure the plant uses its resources efficiently. I usually trim during winter, just before spring, but according to some sources, the best time might actually be in autumn. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this—leave a comment if you have any tips or insights!
I’ll show you how I find the right spots to trim by looking for regrowth points on the plant. I’m also sharing why it’s important to keep an eye on leaf colour, as yellowing leaves indicate it’s time for a trim. I’ll demonstrate my process step-by-step and share my experience with this chilli plant. Let’s hope it regrows beautifully, as it has in the past!
