Porsche Boxster Weight Reduction Part 3 987 Engine Cover Install on 986.

We shave more weight off the 986 Boxster and increase engine cover clearance for later mods and increase safety in case of engine fire. The 987 upper engine cover is thin aluminium and can be found for cheap in any wrecked 987 Boxster or Cayman. This metal cover is now a requirement fir Boxster Spec race cars as the original plastic cover can dislodge or melt in a fire and fill the cabin with smoke and flames.
