Propaganda of "childlessness" is banned in Russia

The lower house of the Russian parliament, the State Duma, has adopted a draft law banning childlessness propaganda. At the plenary session held in the Duma, the draft law banning the propaganda of the ideology of not having children was approved.

Accordingly, persons and organizations that propagandize childlessness will be identified and punished. According to the law, persons other than civil servants will be fined up to 100 thousand rubles (about 1000 dollars), civil servants will be fined up to 200 thousand rubles (2 thousand dollars), and legal entities will be fined up to 800 thousand rubles (8 thousand dollars). If the propaganda is carried out by media means, a fine of up to 5 million (51 thousand dollars) will be deducted or the activities of the organization that does this will be stopped for up to 90 days. It was stated that the law in question was adopted in order to protect traditional family values.
