Bucking a fallen Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) with a 3½ lb Thor Arvika (1920s–30s) and 5lb Hytest Forged Tools round poll ‘Green Axe’ (1946–1951), Gold Coast Hinterland, near Springbrook, SE Qld. The tree came down in March 2025 when the mountain was lashed by wind gusts up to 150 km/h generated by (ex) Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
I also got to do a bit of limbing with my new 2 lb Outback from The Farmer’s Forge, and ‘test out’ some chainmail socks and shin guards from RooMark.
No slips, no finger dislocations, no cut feet, and no cicadas. Only pademelons and waterfalls.
