Limbing and bucking a Red ash (Alphitonia excelsa) with my 2 lb Elwell Slimline axe. Not stamped as such, but the pattern matches. Presumably part of an export line at some point (probably 1940s–early 1960s).
I re-profiled the bit with a 19–20° primary bevel and ~25° microbevel. It’s hung on a slimmed down 750 mm Hultafors hickory handle with a gidgee (Acacia georginae) wedge and Mackay cedar (Paraserianthes toona) palm swells.
Really happy with the look and feel of this one. Perfect for trimming small stuff, exactly as intended.
